Who we are

METRO Global Solution Center is conducting finance and accounting processes for METRO, a leading international wholesale company based in Germany with food and non-food assortments that specializes on serving the needs of hotels, restaurants and catering (HoReCa) as well as independent traders. Service companies like METRO Global Solution Center, METRO PROPERTIES, METRO LOGISTICS, METRONOM and METRO ADVERTISING provide overarching group-wide services in the areas of accounting and business operations, real estate, logistics, information technology and advertising.
Established in 2012 in Szczecin, METRO Global Solution Center (formerly METRO SERVICES) has evolved from a service provider to a solution partner for the business and our customers.

We are METRO Global Solution Center (formerly METRO SERVICES). Why the new name? Our company has recently set a clear path to a bright future, claiming a new global strategy. We have adjusted our approach to focus on innovation, high-quality solutions, and a future-ready mindset. We have reached a new level of involvement – not solely as a service provider, but as a business partner and proactive advisor that steps up when needed. Changing the name of the company was only a natural next step.

For 10 years now, we have been providing top-level specialized and centralized services of selected operational processes in finance and accounting for METRO entities mostly located in Europe.

Our office is located in Szczecin, Poland but our expertise and reach have no boundaries. Since the very beginning, we have been giving excellent service to our internal customers. Our experience allows us to add value, be efficiency-oriented, and satisfy our customers.

Compliance

For a company such as METRO is extremely important to do business in the correct manner, meaning to stick to national and international legislation as well as regulations and of course to act in accordance to the internal code of conduct. This means for us, as METRO employees, to act always simply right - in the way that make us able to safeguard the interests of our customers and the interests of METRO, protect our employees from harm.

Compliance, firmly established in the company culture of METRO, is also an integral part of organizational culture of METRO Global Solution Center. An existing in METRO Compliance Programme has been set up to support all employees in complying with relevant laws, regulations and standards of conduct. For this purpose, clearly defined measures were established. Their implementation is organized and coordinated by the Compliance Officers in each location of METRO, including METRO Global Solution Center.

Essential components of the Compliance Programme are the eight Business Principles we guide in our day-to-day work. They are the foundation of any business at METRO. Therefore, upon joining METRO Global Solution Center are introduced to and requested to observe the METRO Business Principles. We support them in this by taking actions such as: classroom trainings, e-learning trainings, meetings with Compliance Officer and by our internal dedicated communication.

Compliance Reporting System

For the purpose of preventing and resolving any kind of misconduct or unfair treatment, we have created at METRO a reporting system to respond to alleged deficiencies. It is available for our employees, clients, suppliers and business partners. We encourage them to speak up whenever they observe an alleged misconduct by using METRO Compliance Reporting System available 24/7. While reporting an alleged Compliance incident, the reporter can also remain anonymous.

Strategic Transformation Projects

Strategic Transformation Projects

It is a part of the one of the most important initiatives to modernise its administrative processes. Our work will enable harmonised financial processes in all countries as well as in the holding. The aim is to simplify and standardise workflows and, in a next step, to automate them.

The improvements that will be achieved with the LUCA project, which we are a part of, for example a simplified data model and accelerated workflows, will mainly benefit the more than 2,000 employees working for the Finance departments in the METRO countries and at the headquarters. Ultimately, this optimised administration facilitates the daily work of all employees working for the company. And that is the point!
